St Patrick’s Day

Have you been seeing little green men sliding down rainbows and carrying little pots of gold? Don’t worry, you’re not on some freaky psychedelic intergalactic acid trip, nor have the Martians invaded to take over our economy.
Or maybe they have… an interplanetary alliance would explain a lot about the state of our current political climate.
But that’s not the reason for the increase in the leprechaun population, or the abundance of three-leafed shamrocks.
No… there can be only one explanation…
It’s St Patrick’s Day.
Leprechauns, the mischievous fairy-folk, have become one of the best-known symbols of Ireland. Watch out for these pint-sized imps are known to be pranksters who enjoy playing jokes on people.
Legend has it that if a human captures one of these green-clothed sprites, then he will grant three wishes to secure his freedom.
However, these little buggers can be hard to snap up… they’re usually busy hiding at the end of their rainbows squirreling away their pots of gold.
But don’t worry… here at The Whisky World you don’t have to go on the hunt for tiny mythical creatures to grant you your wishes, or search for four-leafed clovers to bring you good fortune.
You’re in luck… we’re granting you our very own three wishes… and you won’t need a pot of gold to fulfil them.
Our current Malt of the Moment is the creamy and delightfully fragranced Roe and Co Irish Whisky. Soft notes of spice and mellow spun sugar on the nose combine with a velvety texture and sweet flavours leading to a lingering a gentle finish. Enjoy this perfect blend with a slice of warm and fluffy Irish Soda Bread.
Of course, no Irish celebration would be complete without Jameson’s Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey. This quintessential Irish Blend is a classic that never disappoints. Its floral and fruity notes of Madeira and marmalade evolve to thick body with hints of orchard fruits o the palate. This robust and flavourful whiskey makes a vigorous accompaniment to the rich, warming flavours of a traditional Irish beef stew.
And now for our final wish…. Ta da…. Bushmills 10 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whisky. This superb whisky was the winner of Best Irish Single Malt Whiskey at the 2007 World Whiskies Awards. This medium balanced malt boasts a fruity, chocolate pudding palate, with a light floral finish. Enjoy this as a crisp and clean dessert together with some delicious Irish Chocolate Stout Cupcakes.
So forget the little green men, the lucky clovers, or the somewhere over the rainbow… all you need to bring you a little luck on St. Patrick’s Day is The Whiskey World.
